Vases

Design research / Ephemeral sculptures, 2021

The Vases is a research project that reinterprets the tradition of ancient vases through a contemporary language. Just as in classical Greece the surfaces of vases depicted the life and imagination of their time, these works use images taken from fashion magazines as representations of the present.

The vases are conceived as ephemeral objects, built entirely from paper and tape, transforming fragile and temporary materials into forms inspired by both classical and modern design. The project creates a dialogue between history, consumption, and representation, questioning the value of images and materiality in a contemporary context.

Materials: fashion magazines, tape
